This weekend I had my first Airbnb experience and it was nothing short of spectacular! My family and I ventured to Newport, Rhode Island to spend the weekend on the Capt. Carl houseboat. This charming, houseboat is located at the north end of Newport harbor. It is secured on a dock in a private marina, a short walk from town.
When we arrived we were greeted by our lovely host, Kathy. Kathy was extremely knowledgeable about Newport and helped us decide our agenda for the weekend. See my post Newport Travel Guide for more details on our adventures.
The inside of the houseboat was as beautiful as the outside. The Capt. Carl is newly renovated with varnished woodwork. The houseboat is complete with a full galley kitchen, a bathroom, and a gas grill on the dock. In addition, there are two bedrooms upstairs. One of the bedrooms even had a slider to an upper deck. where I enjoyed drinking my morning coffee while watching the sunrise. It was truly a unique experience.
